As part of a series of projects to extend and communicate the Homestead brand, the purpose of the 2009 report was to demonstrate the depth of the company's expertise in a series of four target markets.

In early 2009 we were invited to submit a proposal for the re-design of 7x7, a San Francisco-based food and lifestyle magazine. Conventional websites for online magazines use a "quilt" organization. Patches of content like news stories, ads, and social media are mixed and scattered across the surface of the web page. This more conventional organization makes it difficult to navigate and it does not expose the relationships between different pieces of information. |

Bibendi Restaurant Brand Design

Bibendi is a concept which marries a magazine and bar. The magazine was to be edited and written by wine, beer and spirit aficionados, with the bar acting as a kind of living forum for critics, showcasing the magazine content to a select group of members and magazine subscribers. The mixologists and beer/wine writers were to be featured servers in the bar. Both bar and magazine headquarters occupy the same location in San Francisco. |

Bolour Associates is a real estate investment and syndication firm headquartered in Los Angeles. The web presence is a literal picture of the company in words and images, presented within a fixed frame that does not change as the user navigates from page to page. Change is registered in a panel along the left side of the frame, where the menu options cascade in a hierarchy that visually records the visitor's progress through the site |

The small, predominately family run business with investment capital from individuals in the community was expanding into new markets beyond Los Angeles and pursuing capital from new institutional sources. |

RK Apothecary is a new skin and body-care store specializing in custom-made skincare products. RK products are intended to be given as gifts, so the aesthetic of the entire product -- soap color, fragrance, wrapping, packaging, and ribbon -- isdesigned to work as beautifully packaged presents even as they are unwrapped, used, and eventually re-purposed as empty jars and containers. |
